The Women Tribe started out as a group of close friends and family members that wanted to create a lasting positive impact in their community through appreciation, support and outreach.
The 1st event involved getting to know one another through ice breakers, activities expressing our appreciation for those in our lives that have made a positive impact, and finally a group activity displaying our interconnection.
Our 2nd event was a Clothing Trade and Drive supporting the New York Based Dwelling Place (Homeless Shelter for Women) and the Women Prison Association. We were taught how our voice can make a difference by contacting our local politicians and demanding that the homelessness tragedy be addressed.
Additionally, we donated over 200 pieces of clothing, shoes and hygiene products to The Women Prison Association, an organization that works with women through all aspects of the incarceration process.
Our 3rd event was an outreach event in collaboration with The Dwelling Place, a women's homeless shelter in NYC. The Tribe made dinner and led an activity centered around self reflection and setting goals for 2018. Although this was the first outreach event, the Women Tribe will be partnering with many more shelters to replicate this activity moving forward.
The 4th event hosted by The Women Tribe was a mindful meditation and potluck lunch. Our members are all equal contributors by bringing food, seeds & soil for planting and good intentions for the new season. Our mission as The Women Tribe is to empower and inspire each other everyday!
